1、Characteristics of cylindrical lens
The cylindrical lens has one-dimensional magnification function, which can effectively reduce spherical aberration and color aberration. Due to the special shape of the cylindrical lens, it will cause the convergence and divergence of the light to change in one direction, while remaining unchanged in the other direction. This characteristic gives cylindrical lens a unique advantage in changing the size, shape and orientation of the image.

4、Production technology

Rough grinding: the square blank is glued to the mold to form a cylinder, and then the outer circle is processed to obtain a cylinder. For cylindrical lenses with different curvature radius, the rough grinding methods are different. For example, a cylindrical lens with a small radius can be formed by milling; Cylindrical lenses with more than medium radius of curvature can be roughed by an ordinary cylindrical grinder or a centerless grinder.

Fine grinding: on the basis of rough grinding to further remove the excess part, so that the cylindrical lens to achieve the required accuracy and surface quality. It is necessary to turn the cylinder regularly during the grinding process to avoid grinding into a cone.

Polishing: There is a layer of felt with a thickness of 3~5mm on the polishing die, and the length of the polishing die is about 1/3 of the length of the cylindrical lens cylinder. The polishing process is similar to fine grinding, but the abrasives and processes used are different.
